10/29/2019 "As I look outside of the window in my hotel, I am struck by this potent imagery. Gravestones and the dawning of a new day. For those perishing without Christ the grave holds no hope. A multitude of men and women in India are lost without Christ. And this is why I’m here. To spread everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him". -Shelly LoweryThe team is deep in the trenches of India. Please be in prayer for their safety and for many many God moments. With a week under their belts they have had some challenges but God is good and everything has worked out. The team has visited Jubilee Children's home, held a Women's event, visited a Leper colony, and the sewing school in India.
The Children were very excited to see them and greeted them with several beautiful songs. They loved all the gifts the team brought due to your in kind giving. Each child received a quilt, shirt, and many other wonderful gifts.
At women’s conference Beyond My Borders Founder and Executive Director, Shelley Norton Lowery spoke on the potter and clay. To make it even more beautiful we had a potter and wheel on stage making vessels as she preached. Powerful. Then all the team got the opportunity to try to work the clay themselves. It was not has easy as one might think. The women were empowered and prepared to go and preach the Good news of Jesus.
Here is a note from their visit to the Leper colony.
--There are so many stories behind these pictures. Their stories. One day living a normal life, some even as business and governmental leaders. And then the red spots began to appear on their skin. Then the nerve damage, the boils, and the eventual rotting of fingers and toe. They were then forced from their homes, jobs, and schools, to live in colonies. Never to be touched again by family and friends. But we go to touch them. To bring them comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:3 says this, “Praise be to the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles. Comfort in this passage means ”to stand beside”. What joy it is for them and for us as we pour out our love on these communities of “untouchables”.Please look at the pictures below to see what God has been doing through Beyond My Borders Team. They are such beautiful pictures of what he is doing. Thank you for praying ans supporting BMB and this mission team.
